IRS to Expand Policing Political Non-Profits

dont-tread-on-meYou would think that problems Lois Lerner created would have made for smarter agency heads.  You’d be wrong.  From Politico:

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said the agency may expand a yet-to-be-released rule governing 501(c)(4), “social welfare” groups, to include political groups known as 527s, which focus on elections. It could require them both — as well as other types of tax-exempt groups — to operate under the same definition of “political activity.”

“If it’s going to be a fair system, it needs to apply across the board,” Koskinen said when asked by POLITICO if such groups would be included in the new rule. “[I]f we have a set of definitions for 501(c)(4)s, what about everybody else? Can they do more or less [political activity]? And for us as (an) administration, for ease of administration, it makes sense to have this common definition.”

I don’t think that word means what you think it does..

facepalmIn a discussion on my Joni Ernst narrative piece, the commenter “flintandsteel” used the word “seditious” in describing the Senator Tom Cotton’s open letter to Iran.  I generally wave off this kind of hyperbole because, mostly, it’s used for effect.  Liberals use such words, especially out of context, when there is serious butthurt about something Republicans do against the President.

I’m not a lawyer, but.. #47Traitors or #47Patriots and the Logan Act

Preamble of the Constitution

Depending on which side of the political aisle you’re on, no doubt you have heard the latest dust up regarding whether the Republican Senators who signed the open letter to Iran are traitors. Make no mistake, the liberals are on full blast screaming about how seditious these irresponsible Republicans are, so much so, they have created a petition to get charges filed against these Obama haters. The Constitutional Crisis Obamabots want you to believe

liberals-be-all-angryYesterday, I fisked Paul Waldman’s post regarding the 47 Republican Senator’s open letter to Iran that has caused a great deal of anger among the Democrats.  In it, I included an example of how the Democrats have, in the past, tried to undermine US Foreign policy of a Republican President.  Today, on Twitchy, there are even more examples of how Democrat Senators went to see communist leaders to undermine foreign policy objectives of the sitting President, in this case, Ronald Reagan

Boehner’s Lip Service and Cowardice

John_Boehner

“I don’t know where my backbone is.”

With the exception of the whining liberals, most people who watched Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress came away with a few observations, chief among them was how passionate the Prime Minister was to his love of country, and his belief in the threat posed to his people.

Even in the face of the political backlash from his own constituents, he stood strong and delivered an eloquent speech that sharply contrasts with the Administration’s direction on how to deal with Iran. Continue reading
