I don’t think that word means what you think it does..
In a discussion on my Joni Ernst narrative piece, the commenter “flintandsteel” used the word “seditious” in describing the Senator Tom Cotton’s open letter to Iran. I generally wave off this kind of hyperbole because, mostly, it’s used for effect. Liberals use such words, especially out of context, when there is serious butthurt about something Republicans do against the President.
However, I noticed a number of my liberal friends were also using these words on Facebook posts, tweets, and comments on various articles around the interwebs. It was bad enough that the word “treason” was used, which, under the Constitution, has a totally different meaning. Continue reading
Liberals might be Happier than Conservatives
From the Washington Post
The reason, they say, is that political conservatives have a tendency to self-aggrandize. When they compared happiness self-reports with tests that measured a tendency to enhance one’s better qualities, they found that the happiness gap could be explained by a self-enhancement gap. In other words, liberals were being more honest about their personal pitfalls.
Essentially, a previous study that had conservatives self-report their happiness suggests that Conservatives were exaggerating and that perhaps, Liberals, were just not being modest.
In the new study, they analyzed photos and posts from both Linked and Twitter. Apparently, Conservatives tweet more angry and post not as happy pictures as Liberals.. or something. All because of what you post tells you how much happier or sadder you are.
*sigh*
Hope you all are having a nice day like I am! 🙂

Let me get this straight.. You’re offended by a flag?
University of California Irvine (ASUCI) students recently voted to approve legislation, designated R50-70, in their legislative council to ban all flags from campus so as to promote a culture of inclusiveness for all students.
In the text of the legislation itself, the only flag ever mentioned is the American Flag. Old Glory. The Stars and Stripes. You know, the one where soldiers at Iwo Jima, fighting Imperial Japanese soldiers for inches of ground hoisted the colors on top of the mountain to signify the tide had turned. The same flag sent to the Moon and back. The same flag that was raised in Yorktown when General Cornwallis of the British Army was finally defeated and a new nation was born. Continue reading
