And Minimum Wage goes boom..

janitorial_servicesThe University of California- Berkeley, is learning about the effects of the minimum wage increases the hard way.  Activists, social democratic economists, and even presidential candidates have claimed that such a boost in the minimum wage would benefit the economy.

Unless of course, you’re a college institution that has budget problems and need to let go a few hundred workers that maybe have to go someplace else to find similar work.

IRS to Expand Policing Political Non-Profits

dont-tread-on-meYou would think that problems Lois Lerner created would have made for smarter agency heads.  You’d be wrong.  From Politico:

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said the agency may expand a yet-to-be-released rule governing 501(c)(4), “social welfare” groups, to include political groups known as 527s, which focus on elections. It could require them both — as well as other types of tax-exempt groups — to operate under the same definition of “political activity.”

“If it’s going to be a fair system, it needs to apply across the board,” Koskinen said when asked by POLITICO if such groups would be included in the new rule. “[I]f we have a set of definitions for 501(c)(4)s, what about everybody else? Can they do more or less [political activity]? And for us as (an) administration, for ease of administration, it makes sense to have this common definition.”

Democrats are beginning to act as if the President forgets there is a Constitution

Let’s examine what he says..

It’s safe to say that no president in modern times has had his legitimacy questioned by the opposition party as much as Barack Obama. But as his term in office enters its final phase, Republicans are embarking on an entirely new enterprise: They have decided that as long as he holds the office of the presidency, it’s no longer necessary to respect the office itself.
