A Bit of Unintended Irony…

Some critics suggest that Williams, who apologized last week for falsely claiming that he was in a helicopter that had been hit by a grenade while in Iraq in 2003, should be fired. Others wonder if commerce will win out, since Williams has kept “Nightly News” at the top of the ratings while much of his news division crumbled around him. How much are the years of good work worth?

I assume his high ratings are because of his storytelling instead of telling the story?

Brian Williams is the anchor for NBC Nightly News for over 10 years.  He is an award winning journalist and anchor who has a great reputation among his peers.  However, it seems, that during a mission in Iraq where he was aboard a US Army helicopter embedded with the troops, he somehow got confused about his helicopter being shot at by an RPG and AK-47, even claiming to be hit and forced down.
