The world’s swimming governing body made the right decision, but..

FINA voted to restrict transgender athletes from participating in its women’s sports if the athlete in question has transitioned after puberty. The new policy goes into effect on Monday.

FINA members widely adopted a new “gender inclusion policy” on Sunday that only permits swimmers who transitioned before age 12 to compete in women’s events. The organization also proposed an “open competition category.”

This is obviously a blow to high school and college boys who believe themselves to be female and want to compete in sports designated for biological women. While it doesn’t affect all amateur competitions, the organizations are now utilizing biological science that transitioning isn’t as simple as the radical elements of the left would have you believe.

The flipside of all this is that radicals will now become even more emboldened to force younger and younger children to transition as part of their transformation agenda. This is patently dangerous. A young boy may decide he wants to be a female gymnast and leftist parents would be obligated to begin HRT and puberty blockers along side genital mutilation. They incorrectly believe that the whims of a young boy, without any critical thinking skills, has some weird fantasy of being the next Simone Biles and should be obliged.

Current media designated “experts” are saying that kids should be able to transition by 14 with a few even clamoring for younger ages. There are plenty of ignorant parents who believe children are capable of understanding their gender as early as the toddler years. What is actually the case are that these “parents” are indoctrinated leftists intent on destroying the traditional American family.

The battle is far from over.
