There appear to be only two cursorial animals extant today. Both wolves and humans can run their prey to exhaustion. Wolves tend to take turns and basically run large prey like moose in big circles until the moose falls exhauste. Humans tend to run large animals in a straight line until they drop, so there is not much turn-taking when humans hunt that way.
Apparently Native Americans captured horses after they were reintroduced by chasing them to exhaustation then putting a rope around their necks. They would chase the horse, which would then run very fast 50-100 yards but the humans would follow more slowly. When they got close the horse would bolt again. This would happen over and over. Eventually the horse would be unable to run any more. Then the rope was put on them.
