Honestly, I’m not sure the left cares what the actual laws are. They want power, and they will lie to get it.
The Vox piece — like so many Vox pieces — is intended to piss people off. Their hope is they piss someone — or some group — off enough to start violence.
Then they will blame the violence on the right. The Tea Party — whose rallies left public spaces cleaner than when they arrived — were “violent” and “divisive”, despite the only racially motivated attacks being on pro-Tea Party or unaligned blacks by leftists. The left organized thugs to attack people at Trump rallies, and the press gleefully reported it as “violence associated with Trump rallies”. Antifa thinks swinging bike locks and setting fires is the proper response to words they disagree with, but they’re always “provoked”.
To quote a guy I supported for president, who left us too soon: “This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it.”
