It’s CNN again..
So get this.. CNN said on Friday that if the government shuts down, it could put the earth in danger – NASA’s asteroid monitoring system would be unable to detect an approaching asteroid.
And, the intrepid reporter reminded the audience that one is going to brush by the Earth in February.
FOREMAN: “Meanwhile many services would be stopped or delayed. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would back down its flu tracking program even as the nation faces the worst outbreak in years. Some senior nutrition programs would be paused. 200,000 passport applications went unprocessed in 1995. Congress funds much of the scientific research done in this country. In 2013, that meant some experiments went on hold in 2013 and suffered costly losses of data. In space same year, for more than two weeks, NASA reportedly stopped monitoring potentially dangerous asteroids. A big one, by the way, is expected to brush by Earth on February 4th.
The asteroid in question is 2002 AJ129, which is expected to pass within 2.6 million miles of the Earth, roughly 10 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
In other words, we’re in no danger.
And yet, CNN’s loyal viewers are not known to comprehend basic science-y stuff. CNN may be implying that if the asteroid DOES hit the planet, it’s probably Trump’s fault for shutting down the government. Had Trump given in to Schumer’s and the Democrats demands, which include giving amnesty to DREAMERS, it could have kept the asteroid from hitting us.

Reminds me of another CNN viewer:
Perhaps the asteroid hitting us might actually be a good thing..

“Perhaps the asteroid hitting us might actually be a good thing”
Only if it takes out San Francisco or wherever the Malignant Moronic Manatee and his inflata-ho are residing.

Amazing amount of stupidity. Asteroid detection takes place at great distance, hence time, from the Earth …. oh, and if we spotted an asteroid that was dangerous there is not a damn thing we can do about it.
The CDC actually provides zero health care. Its statistics are not at all urgent to any one’s medical decisions.
