Sales for recreational marijuana just became legal in Nevada. The Las Vegas Journal-Review says sales are brisk and lines are long. Even with temps in the 100’s in July, that won’t stop people who want to partake of their new liberties.
And the government being what it is, lawmakers in Reno have created a number of taxes that go with every purchase:

If your dealer wasn’t ripping you off enough, you can always turn to the government. Of course, some people will say it will help fund government programs. One of them, I’m sure, is for state sponsored addiction programs.
Well, Nevada’s set that up to fail nicely.
I hope Canada isn’t that dumb, but I have every expectation that we will be, given how we tax cigarettes and alcohol. The difference is that our taxes are blended into the price.
