The Pendulum

The left has no idea the size of the bob they created.

I am still traveling for work and other activities as demands on my time for both work and service projects increase. Things look a lot different since the pandemic; some good and others not so good.

As I have chatted with several people in various venues, one thing is becoming quite clear: There is a growing sentiment that people were misled during the pandemic, and that the government, it’s media lapdogs, and leftist activist groups have gone overboard in messing with people’s lives.

Most of those people are fed up. One gentleman and his wife were telling me that he was going to run for city council because he was tired of the government spending money on cultural propaganda while rapidly taxes, especially property taxes. He said the roads were terrible, a lot of services are hobbled, and local government is unresponsive, infiltrated by liberal activists who sneer at the common folk..

It’s clear our elected leaders have failed, but what is worse is how so many of them are embracing the alphabet ideology by spending money that could go to more essential services. The reasoning by elected officials for going down this path is the idea that government needs to be inclusive of all people. Not sure how that fixes roads, improves basic services, or even makes improves anyone’s lives, but painting roads with rainbows, spending money on pride decorations, and holding events focused on sexual preferences doesn’t address community concerns.

But it is clear the pendulum is starting to swing back to the right, and the bob is moving a high speed guaranteeing that whatever is in it’s way will be crushed. As most rational people have said, there is nothing against people with gender dysphoria. You want to live your life as someone with the opposite sex, more power to you. The problem is that the mostly white liberals have elevated transgenderism and asserted it on society’s children. The ramifications of such actions have added velocity and urgency to a pendulum in it’s return towards the right.

This all started when conservatives made gains in local elections. Leftists responded by upping the ante, arguing that transgender laws will cause children to commit suicide unless medical mutilation is permitted. This tactic has proven futile as more children come forward sharing stories of medical trauma, sterilizations, and physical suffering later in life and with more frequency. And some are going to court to hold accountable the leftists who decided to profit from their mutilation.

About a year ago, I told a group of friends sitting around for drinks that the pendulum was about to come back and hard, and that the catalyst would be the transgender movement. A couple of my friends suggested that it wouldn’t matter, that our society has been changed forever and any pushback would be muted at best. Fast forward to yesterday: I received a text yesterday from one of my friends saying, “You were right, and I am sorry to say it’s going to get very ugly.”

Brace yourselves.

  1. I have the same impressions with people I interact with outside my usual circle. There is a sense of disgust and impatience, and worse is the open arrogance of the elites. Tell me how we vote our way out of this.
