What we are about to witness.

House Managers have decided to call witnesses.. or rather one witness that was featured on a CNN story about the phone call Kevin McCarthy held with Trump during the worst insurrection in the world.

And the person they are calling didn’t actually hear the call, but was briefed.

“Trump’s comment about the would-be insurrectionists caring more about the election results than McCarthy did was first mentioned by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, a Republican from Washington state, in a town hall earlier this week, and was confirmed to CNN by Herrera Beutler and other Republicans briefed on the conversation.”

IANAL, but if I recall correctly, hearsay is not allowed in a court of law. Of course, normal rules of blind justice don’t apply here and Democrats are determined to get Trump’s ability to run for office stripped along with other amenities afforded ex-Presidents. The fact the Herrara Beutler spoke about it is what Democrats want. And it wasn’t important until..

Which begs the question? Isn’t this timing rather curious?

Democrats did not hold hearings to build a strong case; it was a snap impeachment based on a narrative the Democrats wanted and created this impeachment show to further highlight their disdain for Trump.

But now that they’ve opened this can of worms, those still awaiting the $2,000 checks promised after Democrats gained control of the Senate.. will wait some more. Those Keystone pipeline workers, along with the hundreds of downstream businesses supporting the project that have laid off even more, could really use some relief.

Instead, we get more of the clown show.

Update: It appears that Trump and his team are ready. They want a couple of hundred witnesses. When will Democrats learn that target of their anger knows their stupidity well enough to plan ahead?
