
In the 1970’s, the Department of Defense created a programming language called ‘Ada’. It was named after 19th century mathematician Ada Lovelace. It is still in use today in the operations of real time systems.

I used it a little – I didn’t find it particularly different or useful. It certainly hasn’t kept up with C, C++, and C-Sharp.
