I can’t imagine any other field where you can say the vilest things about a person and then expect them to cooperate with you. They deserve to be treated as they treat him.

Both Bushes trained them into this way of thinking. Neither dared to publicly counter the left’s insults and pomposity. Reagan would at least gently mock the latter, but Trump seems to enjoy going toe to toe.
