Brett Kavanaugh took it to the democrats. I loved it.
Shortly thereafter, Senator Lindsey Graham came out with a blistering rebuke of the democrats.
It seems incredible that the GOP had to wait for the nominee to return MOAB’s before they realized that a strategy of strength may be a good thing?
I suppose better late than never.

Late news (around midnight EST) is that the GOP holds and Donelley and Manchin are joining them. Committee vote tomorrow and floor vote Saturday and Kavanaugh sworn in to start the term. I hope so, but am keeping my powder dry.

So Flake has “negotiated” a one week delay.
Here’s what will happen if McConnell fails to call the vote:
A pointless FBI investigation begins, from which no result will change a single Democrat vote;
While the investigation proceeds (most likely Monday but possibly before) 2 more accusers will come forward;
The Democrats, whom I confidently assume ALREADY HAVE THESE ACCUSERS LINED UP AND REPRESENTED BY RESISTANCE LAWYERS, feign shock – “Oh my goodness, who could have seen this coming?”
They say, “we can’t just IGNORE these poor women! We must hear them out! How’s two weeks from next Thursday for you?”
Lather, rinse, repeat until
A. After Nov 6,
B. Trump withdraws Kavanaugh, or
C. Kavanaugh withdraws himself.
Delay is the only goal. Delay is the victory for the Democrats, no matter how insignificant.
Kill it. Kill it with fire.

No. If Kavanaugh isn’t confirmed and the Dems win the Senate there will be no new Justices seated until at least after the 2020 election.
However, once that starts it would be interesting to see what they would do if Ginsburg goes toes up (4-3 sort of conservatives) and then especially if Sotomayor’s diabetes makes it impossible for her to continue (uncontrolled “brittle diabetes” is a bitch for sure) giving a 4-2 Court.
